Typed letter signed by, “Calvin Coolidge,” as President reflecting on the Civil War and the effects of Reconstruction in the South exactly one day after giving his speech on dedicating the Battles of Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania memorials: “I keenly appreciate your cordial and friendly message in regard to my Fredericksburg address. Coming from one whom I have learned to regard as an authority on the history and progress of the South, and who has done so much for that section of our country, it is doubly gratifying.”
TYPED LETTER SIGNED BY CALVIN COOLIDGE AS PRESIDENT REFLECTING ON THE CIVIL WAR AND THE EFFECTS OF RECONSTRUCTION IN THE SOUTH EXACTLY ONE DAY AFTER GIVING HIS SPEECH ON DEDICATING TWO CIVIL WAR MEMORIALS

Edmonds, editor of the Manufacturers Record, one page on White House letterhead, measures 9 by 7 inches, created in Washington, DC on October 20, 1928, and in fine condition with toning from a previous display.
