    Description

    This rare 1900s "Allen & Ginter Imperial" hinged litho 4 ounce tobacco tin, measuring 1 1/4" x 2 1/2" x 3 1/4", is in very good condition with no rust or dents and some minor age related paint scratches and chips.  The hinge is in excellent working order.  There is a large piece of tax stamp.  This very attractive, highly decorative green and yellow tin was designed by the Ginna Lithography Company, New York, NY.  It features geometric and floral motifs as well as the trademark image of a man in a large brimmed hat.  The tobacco was manufactured by the Allen & Ginter Tobacco Company, a branch of the American Tobacco Company, Richmond, VA. in Factory 14, 2nd District, VA.
