This listing is for the vintage President Theodore Roosevelt and Secretary of War William Howard Taft hand-signed approximately 15" x 20" military commission document dating back to December 20, 1904. This commission is on parchment and states that as of June 15, 1904, Theodore Harwood Dillon is nominated to the rank of Second Lieutenant in the Corps of Engineers. Theodore Harwood Dillon (1884-1961) eventually attained the rank of Brigadier-General in 1942 having been called back to active duty during World War II. This beautiful piece of American history signed by two of the few that have held the office of The President of the United States of America comes with a Beckett Authentication Services (BAS) full Letter of Authenticity #A30164.
